Night. I am watching the stars from the deck of my galley. In their calm light the oars look like ribs of glittering ice. The wind makes the rigging creak. My crew are all belowdecks, sleeping or drinking. Their voices, muffled by the deck below my feet, sound like the voices of the stars above me. Yet another day has passed. I wonder what the next one will bring, but whatever it is, I'll receive it gladly.

When I listen to this I imagine a dead city at night, dark looming buildings, broken windows, dust, and no one around, but something's still following you.
